organic
Farmland runoff consisting of fertilizer and livestock waste causes large areas of oxygen depleted waters (hypoxic zones) across the globe. In North America, the Gulf of Mexico’s dead zone size averages 6,000 square miles—larger than the state of Connecticut. With our production methods, we don’t need nitrogen fertilizers or synthetic pesticides, so we don’t use them--period.

In 1884, the worlds first modern skyscraper was built in downtown Chicago. Since then, the world has looked upward for more space. Our food production methods utilize vertical spacing and modular construction, allowing for integration into existing urban spaces. Since we grow indoors, we're able to supply fresh produce grown right next door, so you're food hasn't travelled the globe to reach you.

sustainable
Did you know that traditional food production and processing accounts for 70% of the energy used to get food to your plate--not transporting it. Changing production and processing methods is the best path to sustainability. SkyyGreens uses 'closed loop' growth processes that requires 90% less water than traditional farms, does not require acres of land (soil) and uses existing building space.
